Glen Hepburn MRTPI


Glen Hepburn worked for the Isle of Wight Council’s Planning Service for over 7 years, and continues to have a role in policy and promoting best practice. His work included taking responsibility for all major planning applications, including residential, industrial, retail and coastal defence. He also has many years’ experience in general planning work both on and off the Island, from the simplest residential extension scheme right up to more complex applications including agricultural, protected trees, telecommunications, holiday accommodation, change of use and barn conversions.

He has detailed and up-to-date knowledge and direct experience of the rapidly changing network of permissions and consents required to progress major schemes, including Environmental Impact Assessment, Land Drainage Consents, FIPA licensing, Habitats Regulations, Retail Assessment and Highway Assessment.

Glen worked for five years for a London Planning Authority as Enforcement Team Leader, and continues to have a strong professional interest in enforcement issues. He has a particularly good knowledge of case law, and takes a strong interest in the way in which this important aspect of planning law is developing.

Glen worked within the private sector for five years, working with a master planning development team. This experience has given him a good understanding of the commercial world, and the ability to work effectively with businesses and individuals both on the Island and the Mainland.


Catherine Hepburn BSc (Hons.) SocR

 

Cathy Hepburn has had a wide-ranging career in the private and public sector. She worked for a Quantity Surveyors practice and also an Architects practice, before qualifying as a Diagnostic Radiographer. She is Office Manager for Hepburns Planning Consultancy Ltd, using her extensive administrative and business skills to support the partnership.

Research Planner: Simon Craddock , MSc

Simon Craddock has a background of project management relating to environmental impact on local communities. This includes the social and economical influences people have on the environment. He has gained a great deal of experience working with community groups, including schools, voluntary bodies and individuals.

Simon's MSc in Ecotourism gave a detailed background to the broad issues that face the environment and particularly planning and its stakeholders. He is now applying these skills to the challenge of specialist advice throughout the development process.
